Baul Shamraggi and MP Momotaz Begom is building a museum at her father’s house in Vakum village, Manikganj. The construction of this museum has started some time ago under the overall supervision of Momotaz and with her own funds.
Momotaz is building the museum in the same place next to her father’s home. In this critical time of Corona, Momotaz is always by the side of the people of the area and is supervising the construction work of the museum. It is said that Momotaz is staying at her village home almost all the time now. There she spends time alone with her mother Ujala Begom and her children.
Momotaz said, “Honestly, who knows if there will ever be another opportunity to spend time like this in life. So I am spending this time in my own village, living next to the people and sharing their happiness and sorrow. I have long wanted to build a museum her. For this purpose, the construction work of the museum is progressing at a fast pace.
The museum will have a variety of memorabilia from my father as well as cassettes, CDs, various instruments from different periods, various items related to Baul life, various types of furniture I used, various books on Baul life, and many more.
This museum is being set up with the aim of fully supporting anyone’s curiosity about the Baul life. As well as entering this museum, one can get a clear idea about Baul artist Momotaz. One day I may not be here, but this museum will remain for ages, and it will remain a memory of my work. My children will take care of it. I will live in their honor and among my listeners and fans.”
Momotaz said the museum will make its debut through a colorful event. Meanwhile, Momotaz will perform music on Banglavision as usual on the coming Eid. This time’s event has been named ‘Cholo Anonder Bazaar’.
Momotaz said that she will sing the most suitable songs in this program. However, even though Ferdous Bappi was the presenter on previous Eid, it was not decided who will be presenting in the coming event because Bappi has recently recovered from corona infection.
