Mohanobomi celebrated in Ctg

The Puja pandels and temples in Chattogram city and elsewhere in the district are now bustling with thousands of Hindu devotees as they throng the mandaps wearing masks to celebrate their biggest religious festival of Durga Puja, reports BSS.

On the day of Mohanobomi, on the eve of the immersion of goddess Durga, the festivity reached its peak as devotees visit different Puja pandels maintaining social distance from throughout the day to have a last glance at goddess Durga seeking blessings for their well-being.

According to official sources, a total of 2167 puja mandaps including 252 in the city have been set up this year and 15 upazilas of the district.

Meanwhile, leaders of different political parties irrespective of the religion, cast and creed are also visiting the puja pandels to exchange greetings and pleasantries with community people.

As a part of the rituals of the last day of celebration, Nobomi Vhog (feast) was offered to the goddess by devotees.

The five-day festival, celebrating the arrival of Goddess Durga on earth, will end tomorrow, through immersion of Goddess.
