Mobile court shuts diagnostic center in Gangni

A mobile court has closed and fined the Suno Diagnostic Center of Gangni in Meherpur for conducting activities without any authorization and lack of skilled technicians.

The order was issued on Monday by the executive magistrate of the mobile court and assistant commissioner (land) Sukhmay Sarkar of Gangni Upazila.

According to mobile court source, Moniruzzaman Vijay and Hafizur Rahman, the proprietors of Suno Diagnostic Center, were operating the diagnostic center illegally without approval in Gangni.

The diagnostic centre stores blood and cough samples from patients in the refrigerator, which is in contravention of sections 8 and 9 of the Bangladesh Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories Ordinance 1982.

The owners of the diagnostic center admitting their mistake and apologized to the mobile court.According to the law, the mobile court fined the diagnostic center Tk. 5,000 and stopped all activities of the diagnostic center. In the presence of the mobile court, the administration and the institution authorities locked in the institution separately.
