Construction of a new special road is starting from Fasiakhali in Chakria to Matarbari port to connect the sea port of Matarbari in Maheshkhali of Cox's Bazar with the national road network. Matarbari port will be connected to the national road network through this road.

Land acquisition for road construction to connect Matarbari port with national road network has started.

According to the Revenue Branch of the Cox's Bazar District Commissioner's office, a notice was issued to the land owners on 29 August 2022 according to section 4 of the Immovable Property Acquisition and Possession Act, 2017 for the acquisition of 243 acres of land from Chakriar Fasiakhali to Badarkhali Bridge on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar road. done In the notice signed by Land Acquisition Officer Rabeya Asfar Saima on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner, the decision to acquire the land has been given by the government. Chakriar Chiringa of Cox's Bazar on Saturday in order to make the land owners aware of the land acquisition.  The district administration organized an awareness meeting at the Union Parishad premises. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Amin Al Parvez, Land Acquisition Officer Rabeya Asfar Saima, Chakaria Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rahat Uz Zaman, Chiringa Union Parishad Chairman Jamal Chowdhury, Fasiakhali Union Parishad Chairman attended the rally organized under the chairmanship of Chakaria Upazila Nirbahi Officer JP Dewan. Hundreds of landowners including Helal Uddin were present. In the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) explained in detail the various stages of land acquisition and what the land owners should do at each stage. He advised the landowners not to resort to any brokers and approach the responsible officials without responding to anyone's unethical offers to get fair compensation. He then answered various questions from the landowners. The land owners demanded to determine the appropriate compensation of their land, to ensure that the road under construction does not disturb the flow of water used for agricultural purposes. During this time, there was a demand to ensure that the poor people who are living in Khas land are not deprived of compensation.The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) heard their statements and assured that appropriate legal action would be taken on the issues raised.
