40-day job creation programme begins in Gaibandha

Meat, milk and eggs are being sold at fair prices in Kishoreganj amid the current Covid-19 pandemic situation and ahead of Ramadan to ensure animal nutrition for common people under the management of the District Administra­tion and Animal Resources Department.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam inaugurated the programme on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's Office on Sunday morning. Additional District Magistrate Abdullah Al Masaud, District Animal Resources Officer Dr Nazrul Islam, District Fisheries Officer Ripon Kumar Pal, Additional District Animal Resources Officer Mofizul Islam, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr Khaleda Jasmine and others were present on the occasion.

Milk, eggs and meat will be collected from the farmers of the district and sold to the general buyers at a fair price, said the district animal resources officer Dr Nazrul Isla. These will be sold at different points in the district. Eggs are being sold at Tk 84 per dozen, milk at Tk 70 per kg, chicken at Tk 225 and broiler chiken at Tk 130 per kg. This price will be determined on a daily basis on the market price.
