A Kishoreganj court on Monday awarded death sentence to a man for killing his sister-in-law following a family feud at Pakundia Madhyapara village at Pakundia upazila in 2015. Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Abdur Rahim delivered the verdict in presence of the convict.
The convict is Azharul Islam alias Milon, son of Sayamuddin of Pakundia Madhyapara in Pakundia upazila. The court also fined him Tk five lakh. According to the case statement, Milon stabbed Taslima Akter, wife of his brother Babul Mia, to death over family feud on June 15 in 2015. Later, victim’s brother Shahabuddin filed a case with Pakundia Police Station. Police arrested Milon and submitted charge-sheet against him.
