Man shot dead in Rangamati

A man was shot dead by the unknown armed criminals at Boradam village in Mogban union under sadar upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.

The dead was identified as Bikram Chakma alias Sumon, 42, of village Rangapani in Rangamati town.

A group of unknown armed terrorists came to at Boradam village at around at 1:30am and opened fire on Bikram when he was staying in a tea stall at Boradam Bazara, leaving him dead on the spot, said Md. Mir Zahidul Islam Roni, officer in-charge of Kotwali police station, quoting locals.

Police recover the dead body and sent it to Rangamati sadar hospital for autopsy on the same day at evening, said the OC.

Locals and police said the area was dominated by newly emerged Mog Liberation Party (MLP) and suspected that the man was killed by the armed members of MLP.
