Lockdown imposed on Manikganj village lifted

The local administration on Tuesday lifted lockdown imposed on village Baraichhara of Harirampur in Manikganj after a woman who died while suffering from fever and cough tested negative for coronavirus, reports UNB.

Harirampur upazila nirbahi officer Sabina Yasmin said that the lockdown was withdrawn on Tuesday. But the family members will have to stay inside their house under quarantine, she added. Manikganj civil surgeon Anwarul Amin Akhand said that the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research in Dhaka confirmed that the deceased was not infected with coronavirus.

Earlier on Sunday, Suchitra Sarkar, 26, wife of Nitai Sarkar of village Baraichhara, died with fever, cough and breathing complication.
Later the local administration put the whole village under lockdown.
