Two people died after being hit by lightning in Moheskhali upazila of the district this morning. The deceased were identified as Ahmed Kabir, 28, and Nurul Alam, 30. Both were the residents of Baro Moheskhali union under the upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Moheskhali Thana Provash Chandra Dhar said the thunderbolt stuck them around 9 am while they were working at a salt field in Fokiraghona area amid rain. Both the salt farmers–Kabir and Nurul– died on the spot, the OC added.
