Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country, reports BSS.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office release.

“Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay,” said the release.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country’s highest temperature on Monday was recorded 35.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore and Tuesday’s lowest temperature 24.0 degrees Celsius at Netrokona.

The highest rainfall for the 24 hours till 6am on Monday was recorded 95 millimeters (mm) at Tetulia.

The sun sets at 6.01 pm on Tuesday and rises at 5.45 am today (Wednesday) in the capital.
