In Gopalganj, on the ground floor of the multi-storied modern Chief Judicial Magistrate Court building, the activities of the District Legal Aid Office have started on a large scale.
District Legal Aid President, District and Sessions Judge Amit Kumar Dey cutting the ribbon at 9:30 am on Sunday officially inaugurated the new office.
District Legal Aid member and Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Shahadat Hossain Bhuiyan, Additional District and Sessions Judge Md. Osman Gani, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Nasir Uddin and others were present.
After the recitation of the Holy Fateha and Durood Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate and everyone else took part in special prayers led by Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Nasir Uddin.
Earlier, all the activities of the District Legal Aid had been conducted from the Gopalganj District and Sessions Judge’s Court Building and the 7th floor of modern Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court Building for a long time.
As a result, helpless, destitute and elderly people had to face difficulties to go to the office built in a high-rise building to get free legal aid provided by the government despite having an elevator.
Later, District Legal Aid President, District and Sessions Judge Amit Kumar Dey, considering the overall situation, took the initiative to move the office on the ground floor of the Chief Judicial Building.
