Kaliganj municipality authorities in Jhenidah on Wednesday started demolition drive against illegal infrastructures in the town.
Asharful Alam, mayor of the municipality, led the demolition drive.
The municipal authorities said that they started the demolition activities at Thana Road, Nimatala Bus Stand, Purtatan Bazer, College Road and other areas which was grabbed by some local influentials.
Locals said, the local influential had constructed establishments occupying the government land without any official approval. It was a pain for the people moving in and around Kaliganj municipality and suburbs.
The mayor said, it causes traffic congestions on the roads for a long time. The demolition will ease the traffic movement in the town.
