Jhalokati District BNP submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding to pay a fair price to the farmers buying paddy from them directly on Tuesday.
The memorandum was submitted to Md Hamidul Haque, the Deputy Commissioner of Jhalokathi under the leadership of Monirul Islam Nupur Secretary of BNP, Jhalokathi District unit.
Among others, District BNP Vice-President Advocate Humayun Kabir Babul, Joint Secretary Advocate Shahadat Hossain, Co-Organizing Secretary Advocate Nasimul Hasan, District Workers' Party President Tipu Sultan and many others of the party were present there.
After submitting the memorandum, District BNP Secretary Monirul Islam Nupur said, the farmers of the country were deprived of fair prices due to the purchase of rice by the mediated beneficiaries. BNP leader urged the government to ensure the fair price by buying rice from the farmers directly.
