Japan seeks BD support in UN climate change

greenhouse gas emissions by an average of 5 percent against 1990 levels, over the 2008-2012 period. 

At the 2012 United Nations Climate Change Conference there was an agreement to extend the life of the Kyoto Protocol until 2020.

The Kyoto Protocol is an international treaty which extends the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that commits state parties to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, based on the scientific consensus that global warming is occurring and (part two) it is extremely likely that human-made CO2 emissions have predominantly caused it. 

The visiting Japanese Minister during his talks also expressed concerns on some coal-fired mega power projects being implemented in Bangladesh which he said that such technology of producing power through burning coal emits carbon dioxide.
