IUB Film Club screens Midsommar

IUB Film Club organized a screening of the film Midsommar on Thursday. The screening was held at the School of Social Science lecture gallery at 11:30 am at Independent University, Bangladesh campus. 

The programme was attended by IUB Media and Communication lecturer and faculty club coordinator Tazeen Ahmed, IUB Film Club president Mahmudun Nabi and senior member Tahrima Khan. 

The screening was organized on occasion of Halloween. Club president Mahmudun Nabi said, ‘We organized the event to celebrate Halloween on campus. IUB Film Club works to unite students and our aim is to celebrate and encourage filmmaking. That is why we hold screenings, interactive workshops and filmmaking competitions regularly.’ 

Midsommar is a 2019 folk horror film directed by Ari Aster. It follows a group of friends who travel to Sweden for a festival that occurs once every ninety years and find themselves in the clutches of a pagan cult.
