IU students protest Muslim killing in Delhi

The Islamic University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Moitree formed a human chain on the campus protesting the continued violence against Muslims in India’s capital Delhi. The chain was formed at the feet of ‘Mrittunjoyee Mojib’ a moral of father of the nation adjacent to the university main entrance area.

IU Chhatra Moitree unit President Abdur Rouf led the chain and its secretary Mutasim Billah Pappu conducted the chain while general students and the wing leaders spoke out over the issue here.

While addressing the speakers said, the government would cancel the invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the birth centenary programme of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Meanwhile, IU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Union formed a protest procession and rally on the campus with the same demand.

The wing brought out a protest procession from their party’s tent around 12:00pm led by its president Nurunnobi Sobuj and secretary G K Sadik.

The procession ended at the same place after main thoroughfares of the university, over 20 leaders and activists of the wing attended the procession.

The wing leaders expressed deep condemnation about the riots in Delhi and said Narendra Modi is a communal leader and his hands are stained with blood. His presence in the Mujib Barsho programme is not acceptable, they added.

Earlier, on Saturday, over 200 general students formed human chain against Narendra Modi securing slogan ‘Bangabandhur Asomprodayic Banglai, Modir Thai nai’ for his communal movement in the largest democrat country of the world. Mentioned, more than 30 people have been killed in religious riots in Delhi and it harder for Muslims to become Indian citizens.
