Islamic Relief Bangladesh has launched a comprehensive flood response as of August 25, 2024, targeting the most affected areas across several districts, including Fulgazi, Poshuram, Chagolnaiya, Shonagazi, and Sadar upazilas in Feni District; Burichang and Monowarganj in Cumilla District; and Shenbag in Noakhali District.
The organization provides immediate assistance by distributing dry food items, freshwater, multi-purpose cash grants, hygiene kits, and shelter kits to approximately 15,000 households, with an initial budget of Tk 11 crore.
In addition to these immediate relief efforts, Islamic Relief Bangladesh is planning further recovery activities, including shelter repairs, support for agriculture and livestock, cash-for-work programs, additional multipurpose cash grants, and enhanced water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives.
Dedicated to helping communities recover and rebuild after the recent floods, Islamic Relief Bangladesh will continue working closely with local authorities and partners to ensure timely and effective support for those in need.
