The Islamic Foundation has urged the mosque authorities to raise awareness about the novel coronavirus among the devotees during giving religious sermon “khutba” before Jummah prayers, reports BSS.
“Islamic Foundation is specially requesting for discussing, what to do or not to do, during the Jummah khutba in light with the Islam at all mosques across the country to keep the mankind, including Muslims, protected and safe from coronavirus and help them remain alert,” said a press release here on Thursday.
It said the spread of coronavirus has turned into a ‘pandemic’ across the world including China, Italy and Iran while three individuals were detected with the COVID-19 in Bangladesh. “Under the circumstances, rumors, panic and misleading information are being spread. People become frightened,” it said. The foundation also requested the respective people for presenting the information in light with Islam that if anyone gets affected to corona virus, he or she should avoid going to mosques and public gatherings. It also asked to hold special doa to this end.
