Interpol issues red notice against Arav Khan: IGP

Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said Interpol has issued a red notice in the name of Arav Khan.

 After the formal inauguration of Enayet Bazar Police Outpost Building in Chattogram on Monday afternoon, he said this to a question from the journalists.  In response to another question regarding law and order in Cox's Bazar Rohingya camp, the IGP said, Rohingya camp is completely under our control.  Various intelligence agencies including district police, APBN, RAB, RRRC are working simultaneously for the security of the Rohingya camp.  We are taking legal action in every case against everyone who is causing disturbance to law and order there.

 The IGP visited various parts of the outpost building and signed the inspection book.  Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Krishna Pad Roy, Chattogram Range DIG Md Anwar Hossain, Chattogram District Superintendent of Police SM Shafiullah, Chattogram Metropolitan Police and senior officers of the range were present.

 Later IGP Chattogram Metropolitan Police Lines inaugurated Chattogram Metropolitan Police Annual Police Rally and Sports Competition.  Bangladesh Police Women Welfare Association (PUNAK) president Dr. Taiba Musarrat Janha Chowdhury was a special guest at the event.  CMP Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy, senior police officers, senior officers of various government and private departments, public representatives and dignitaries were present on the occasion. Special guests distributed prizes among the winners of various events in sports competitions.

 After that, IGP Chattogram District Police Lines Ground distributed prizes among the winners of Chattogram District Police Annual Police Rally and Sports Competition.  Chattogram Range DIG Md. Anwar Hossain was the special guest on the occasion.

 Superintendent of Police of Chattogram District SM Shafiullah, Superintendents of Police of various districts of Chattogram range, public representatives, senior officers of various public and private departments, senior police officers and invited guests were present in the event.  In the speech of the chief guest, the IGP said that the police are working tirelessly to maintain law and order and provide public safety.  He said, we have been able to suppress militancy in the country with the cooperation of all through the implementation of the 'zero tolerance policy' announced by the honorable Prime Minister against militancy and terrorism.

 Addressing the policemen, the IGP said, "We have done a good job, so we should not be complacent;  Will do better in the future.  To become Bangabandhu's 'People's Police' we need to constantly improve our service quality.  The IGP said that helpless people come to the police station to get services.  All policemen should strive to ensure that the people who come to the police station get the services they expect.

 The police chief said that the national emergency service 999 has been able to gain the trust of the people.  He urged everyone to call 999 for police assistance.

 Chattogram District Superintendent of Police SM Shafiullah's concluding speech ended the ceremony.
