Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has commented that the victory would have been incomplete if the great hero of the victory, Bangabandhu, did not return to his homeland.

The minister made this comment in the chief negotiator's speech at the discussion meeting organized by the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Liberation War Stage on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Homecoming Day at the poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the National Museum in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

At that time, the minister said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the great hero of victory. The victory would have remained incomplete in Bangladesh without Sheikh Mujib. If Bangabandhu did not return to his homeland, it would not have been possible to get recognition of Bangladesh from different countries of the world. At that time, the East Pakistan Restoration Committee was formed and the anti-independence activists again tried to return to East Pakistan. If Bangabandhu did not come back, the reconstruction of war-torn Bangladesh would not have been possible. If he had not returned, almost three hundred laws would not have been enacted during his three and a half year rule. Bangabandhu had extraordinary foresight in every place.

The chief negotiator also added that the liberation war was not a fiction. The liberation war is not an independent entity that came down suddenly. The history of the Bengali nation is long. But our forefathers have consistently tried to free the Bengali nation from the shackles of subjugation. But Bangabandhu brought Bengali speakers to a platform by inspiring Bengali nationalism. The education commission movement of '62, the six points of '66, the anti-Ayub movement, the popular uprising of '69, the elections of '70, the great liberation war of '71, Bangabandhu has prepared the people for the struggle for liberation, the struggle for independence. .

CM Rezaul Karim also said that the opponents of the independence of Bangladesh still exist in the country and outside the country. The ghosts of those people are still in this country. Successors of the anti-independence movement are still established in various places in the country. Now we are going through difficult times.

He further added that in the absence of freedom fighters, the new generation should take charge of the country. They have to tell them the history of liberation war, the real history of the creation of Bangladesh again and again. We have to remember that after the victory, the hero of victory came back, but we could not save him. The failure to protect Bangabandhu is the biggest failure in the history of our nation.
