Earnings from indenting service can be increased several fold if the government proper support can be ensured. Earning from this sector was USD 108 million in 2021.

Bangladesh Indenting Agents Association (BIAA) Director M. Mahmudur Rashid has said this after paying homage at the mausoleum of the Father of The Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman at Tungipara on Wednesday. BIAA Board of Directors led by the BIAA President Md. Nuruzzaman observed silence and pray for the great souls there.

BIAA Director M. Mahmudur Rashid that there are currently about two thousand indenting service exporters registered in BIAA and they have been conducting business despite the challenges of the global pandemic and economic instability through tireless efforts.

As per the Bangladesh Bank statistics, he said, “The amount of foreign exchange earned through the export of indenting services in the last year alone is more than USD 108 million. This can be 10 times or more if the government ensures proper support.”  He thanked all the concerned ministries and departments of the government as the government is currently considering the indenting service export sector as an important service export sector. He said that if the exporters of indenting services get the same incentives and facilities as other exporters of the country, especially if the income from the export of indenting services is exempted from VAT, this export of indenting services can be a major sector of remittances.

BIAA Senior Vice President Bahalul Mansoor along with other members of the Board of Directors were present at this time.
