The school field is now filled with the mobile warm-clothes traders. People from various places of the district rushed here to purchase the used, second-hand warm clothes from afternoon till evening.
With the increase of the intensity of cold of winter, the number of mobile warm-clothes vendors are also increasing in the district. The warm clothes are being sold in Boromath Road, Jubo Sangsad field, Municipal Hawkers market, Old Bus stand, Court premises and various hats and markets of Thakugaon. Not only the poor people but also many well-off people are also seen to throng to those markets to purchase warm clothes.
Ayela Khatun (35) was seen to visit warm-clothes vendors at Thakugaon Boys' High School playground. She said, there was intense cold for several days that is why she went to purchase warm clothes with her children. She further said, since the price of clothes is less there, she visited the school playground every year to purchase warm-clothes. Another customer Rahimul Alam said, the price of warm-clothes was less last year than that of the present year. However, he added, the price of superior quality clothes is always higher. Garments trader Omor Faruk Hossain informed, the intensity of cold is being felt bitterly this year due to an early approaching of winter. That is why, he added, there was a brisk sale of warm-clothes this year.
Another warm-cloth trader Faisal Hossain informed, there is an available supply of Jackets, Sweaters, Hand-gloves, Coats, Caps and Cashmeres in his shop. The price of a pieces of a female sweater is Taka 100 to 500 bases on the quality while the price of male sweater is ranging from Taka 50 to 400, Jacket of male is being sold from Taka 150 to 4,000, Baby sweater is being sold at Taka 30 to 600, a pair of hand gloves is Taka 30 to 150, price of Cap is ranging from Taka 50 to 100 and a piece of cashmere is being sold at Taka 50 to 250.
