Bangladesh Hypertension and Heart Failure Foundation President Professor Dr. Prabir Kumar Das said, heart attack is one of the biggest causes of human death in the world.  Cardiovascular disease is a global threat among non-communicable diseases.  Risk of heart disease increases due to smoking, uncontrolled lifestyle and lack of walking.  Heart attacks account for one-third of deaths worldwide.  Heart attack or heart disease is now very common in Bangladesh.  If you have a heart, you cannot be hearty.  Heart should be kept in regular check-up.  Most of those who died during the Corona period died of heart attacks.  To save people from the deadly disease of heart attack, awareness must be created everywhere through social movements.  Heart patients should be treated sincerely, not thinking of themselves as doctors, but as important patients.

He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the scientific seminar organized at Chattogram 250-bed general hospital on the occasion of World Heart Day on Thursday.  This year's theme of the day was 'Love heart with heart, protect environment and nature'. Opsonin Pharma was the scientific partner in the seminar.  A cake was cut on the occasion of World Heart Day in the seminar.  Finally a colourful rally was taken out to mark the day.  The rally circled the city road.

Speakers said, we never worry about our own heart.  Heart attack is the leading cause of death.  If you don't take care of your heart, you will die prematurely.  Family heart disease history, diabetes, high blood pressure, excess smoking, overweight or obesity, sedentary lifestyle, excess salt intake, unhealthy diet, excess anxiety and excess alcohol are some of the causes of heart disease.  Like other organs of the body, the heart also needs to be taken.

Chattogram General Hospital Superintendent and Deputy Director Dr. Sheikh Fazle Rabbi presided over the event.  Chattogram Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Sakhawat Ullah, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Elias Chowdhury were special guests in the scientific seminar.  Senior Consultant (Cardiology) Dr. Abul Hossain Shaheen presented keynote speech on World Heart Day in the seminar conducted by General Hospital Consultant (Anaesthesia) Dr. Moumita Das.  Resident Medical Officer Dr. Mostafa Jamal Haider, Senior Consultant (Ortho Surgery) Dr. Ajay Kumar Das, Consultant (Medicine) Dr. Hamidullah Mehdi, Consultant (Anaesthesia) Dr. Rajdeep Biswas and Representative of Opsonin Pharma Md.
