Absolutely healthy person, businessman, people with no disability in the body are included in the list of disabled people in the survey of Jibannagar Social Service Office and are getting government allowance.
Recently, 25 such healthy people have been found who have availed government allowances as disabled.
It has been alleged that the employees of Jibannagar Upazila Social Service Office, members of the union council and some brokers have issued such disability allowance cards.
Jibannagar Upazila Social Service Officer Masudur Rahman said that out of 120 people sent by resolution from Uthli Union Parishad, the names of 25 healthy people were in the list.
There will be a committee at the union level to select candidates initially for the purpose of disability allowance in accordance with the policy of implementation of allowance program for indigent persons with disabilities.
The above committee will initially select the candidates and prepare the list for the disability disability allowance. After that, the prepared list will be sent to the Upazila Committee with recommendations for final approval. But the policy was not followed in the case of the list of 120 people sent to the Upazila Committee on July 21 for final approval by the Uthli Union Parishad.
It is learned that Jasim Uddin and his wife, a perfectly healthy man from Uthli village in Uthli union of Jibannagar upazila, have been included in the disabled list. Uthli Union social worker Shamim Ali has included them in the disabled list in exchange for money. They have also recently withdrawn allowance money.
Bablu Mallick, Mosharraf Hossain, Raihan Uddin, Jamal Hossain, Anarul Hossain of Santoshpur village are all healthy.
However, UP member of Ward 8 Mohammad Selim Hossain recommended union social worker Shamim Ali and included his name in the list of disabled people, said the union social worker.
Abul Kalam Azad, chairman of Uthli Union Parishad, said, "I asked union social worker Shamim Ali to prepare the list as per the policy." But he did not do that and made his own list. I was hospitalized after being infected with coronavirus. Due to this I could not hold another meeting later.
Jibannagar Upazila Social Service Officer Masudur Rahman said a list of all the disabled from the union level was prepared by conducting a survey. A list of beneficiaries with disabilities is prepared by combining certificates and various information provided by a physician.
