People of Harijan community who work at Jashore Municipality brought out a procession in the town on Tuesday to press home their 4-point demand.
The demands include stopping of termination, not appointing non-Harijan at Jashore Municipality for the post of sweeper, fixation of daily wage as Tk 400 and implementation of wage commission.
The agitators handed over a memorandum to the mayor of Jashore Municipality after the rally held at Landighi in the town where Ashutosh Biswas, president, Bangladesh Trade Union Sangha, Jashore district unit, Matilal Harijan, Kamal Biswas, Sajen Dome and Harinlal Sarker spoke.
