Gulshan police have arrested 28 people, including men and women, in a raid on a spa center in the capital's Gulshan area.
The raid was carried out at the Apple Thai Spa Center on Sunday (September 20) from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm at the 12 / C building at 105 Road, Gulshan-2, said Gulshan Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sudip Kumar Chakraborty.
He said the company had long been involved in illegal prostitution in the name of spa. The organization was conducting this work by gathering young girls from different parts of the country.
He added that there was evidence of anti-social activities in these centers by conducting night raid. At that time 12 men and 16 women were arrested.
The arrested men and women confessed to prostitution during preliminary interrogation. He also said that the police had filed a case against them at Gulshan police station under the Prevention of Human Trafficking Act.
