‘Graft, irregularities must be resisted’

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Commissioner (Investigation) AFM Aminul Islam has said, “Wherever there is irregularity, we have to protest and resist. Wherever there is corruption in the office, it has to be resisted.”
He said this while addressing as the chief guest at the ACC's 137th Public hearing program held at the Shaheed Md. Fazlul Rahman Munshi Auditorium on Tuesday morning. Additional Department Commissioner (Development) Md Nurul Alam chaired the public hearing program organized by Chittagong and Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee and with the cooperation of the departmental and district administration.
AFM Aminul Islam said, “We will try to make decision about the irregularities that will arise in today's hearing. We will set a deadline for those who cannot afford it.” He also said that the ACC is basically doing for both preventive and remedial work. The hearing is part of the preventive action. Referring to working with students in various school and colleges, Aminul Islam said, “We have stored integrity in about 28,000 schools besides honesty in 5,000 schools. Through which we are practicing human values and honesty among the students.”
Chattogram port chief Rear Admiral Zulfiqar Aziz, ACC Director Mahbub Hasan and Chittagong City Corruption Committee General Secretary Syed Sirajul Islam Kamu also spoke there.
