Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) has criticized the government for recent frequent loadshedding across the country.

In a press statement issued on Thursday (July 7), the party’s chairman Jebel Rahman Ghaani and secretary general M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan said that severe loadshedding continues across the country due to mismanagement and wrong policy of the government.

They said that key persons in the government have been boasting that they have sent the loadshedding to the museum through ensuring 100 percent electricity coverage, but the country has been witnessing frequent power outages for the last few days. common people are experiencing immense sufferings for the government's exaggeration and complacency about power.

The NAP leaders said that the government can’t avoid liability for severe power shortage just because of the Ukraine-Russia war or the international market. The government has failed to keep the power situation normal even after wasting crores of money of people’s taxes every day in the name of subsidies.

Jebel Rahman Ghaani and Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan further said that the increase in the dominance of the private sector has benefited the vested groups.

Thousands of crores of money have been and are being wasted by the people every year.

However, the power crisis has intensified. Such frequent loadshedding affects the agriculture, industrial production and the overall economy. If this situation continues, the country will face an acute crisis, they commented.

The two leaders in the statement called upon the government to take steps to come out of the crisis. They said that the use of air conditioners must be controlled everywhere.
