Deputy Minister of Water Resources and former organizing secretary of Awami League AKM Enamul Haque Shameem said that the government is committed to creating educational institutions free of drugs, terrorism and militancy. That's why everyone has to work together. Drug addicts should be cured by creating public awareness by involving people from all walks of life in creating a drug-free society. Just as there is no alternative to education in removing prejudice, injustice and oppression from society, there is no alternative to sports in creating a drug-free society. Along with education, students should be given the opportunity to play sports.

He said these things while addressing the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony in the final game of Sheikh Russell Memorial Football Tournament organized by Bijhari Upsi Tara Prasanna High School in Shariatpur on Saturday.

Deputy Minister Shamim said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is personally a great sports fan. Wherever important games were played in the country, he ran. Being a child of a sports family, he has a weakness for sports.

The athletes of the country have made us a big place of pride in the world. All kinds of support will be provided by the government to continue the success of the sports arena. Our goal is that Bangladesh will set a unique example in the field of sports and bring great glory to the world.

Enamul Haque Shamim also said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. At a young age, he played football in the Dhaka league. Played for a long time in Dhaka Wanderers Sporting Club. Bangabandhu's two sons Sheikh Kamal and Sheikh Jamal were also successful athletes and sports organizers. Sheikh Kamal has contributed to the sports field of the country by establishing the current Dhaka Abahani Sports Club. Sheikh Kamal's wife Sultana Kamal Khuku was also a famous athlete of the country. It is natural that Bangabandhu's daughter born in such a sports-loving family will have a love for sports. Prime Minister has contributed one after another to the sports field of Bangladesh in the way shown by his father and brothers. He is still leading from the front to advance the country's sports while maintaining that trend.

He also said that the students of today will build this country in the future. Teachers are people builders. The responsibility of teachers is to make students focus on teaching. Teachers should take care that students can become responsible people in future by leaving bad company. Along with education, children should also be proficient in sports. It is the responsibility of teachers to do this. Everyone should be vigilant in removing drugs from the society.

Bijhari Upsi Tara Prasanna High School Headmaster Sheikh Nurul Amin Ratan presided over and tournament committee member secretary Akhtaruzzaman Jeebul conducted the event as special guests, District Awami League General Secretary Anal Kumar Dey, former Shariatpur Municipality Mayor Rafiqul Islam Kotwal, Awami League Central Science and Technology Deputy. Khabiruzzaman Bachchu, Upazila Awami League President Fazlul Haque Mal, General Secretary Hasanuzzaman Khokon, Vice President Badsha Sheikh, Joint General Secretary Shahidul Islam Babu Rari and others.
