Customs officials have seized six gold bars from a passenger from Jeddah, at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram. The weight of this gold is 685 grams. Price is Tk 48 lakh.
The joint commissioner of Chittagong Custom House Nahid Naushad Mukul confirmed the matter.
He said that 71 different brands of mobile phone sets, 4 liters of alcoholic beverages and 64 Indian sarees were seized by two private Regent Airways passengers from Kolkata and two passengers of US Bangla Airlines.
He said that necessary measures were being taken in customs law for the seizure of gold and other goods.
