GKDACC brings out jubilant procession ahead of Padma Bridge opening

Greater Khulna Development Action Coordination Committee (GKDACC) on Wednesday brought out a huge jubilant rally in the city ahead of the grand opening of the Padma Bridge.

Hundreds of People from all walks of life and the leaders of all professional bodies including political parties joined the jubilant motorcade rally led by Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque.

Begging from Khulna Shaheed Hadit Park, the motorcade rally paraded around 15 kilometers on Khulna-Jashore Highway and ended at the same venue.

Earlier, KCC Mayor inaugurated the rally releasing pigeons and balloons in the sky. Speaking as chief guest, Talukder Abdul Khaleque said that the Padma Bridge will create huge job opportunities in the south-west region of the country.

Appreciating Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s “farsighted vision and political astuteness” the Mayor said the completion of the Padma Bridge demonstrates what Bangladesh can do for its economic development and stability.

Expressing facilitation, gratitude and thanks to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for completion of the Padma Bridge, the GKDACC leaders hoped that after the grand opening of much awaited Padma Bridge, regional discrimination will be reduced as well as to build new factories and industries to create employments, socio-economic development and to increase country’s GDP.

Use of the Mongla and Payra Sea Ports, Benapole and Bhomra Land Ports will immensely enhance after the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, the leaders said, adding that a revolution will be occurred in all sectors including communication sectors.

On May 28, Sheikh Mohammad Ali, secretary general of GKDACC announced the programme at a press conference at Journalist Humayun Kabir Balu Auditorium at Khulna Press Club.
