Four to die for killing in Kushtia

A court here on Wednesday sentenced four people to death for killing a farmer, a resident of village Madhabpur in Bheramara upazila of the district.

District and Sessions Judge Anup Kumar Goswami handed down the verdict to Md Shamol Pramanik, 40, Asmat Ali Mandal, 43, Mukul Hossain, 38, and second wife the deceased Dolna Begum.

All of them were residents of village Arkandi under Bheramara upazila of the district. According to the prosecution, victim Hanif Khamaruz was killed on April 10, 2017. The police recovered his body on the next day.

Aminul Islam, son of first wife of the deceased, filed a case with Bheramara police station accusing the four. Police pressed the charge sheet on June 15, 2017.
