Four fake Journalists detained in Jashore

Benapole port thana police detained four fake Journalists from Benapole bazaar under Sharsa upazila in Jashore on Wednesday night.

he detainees identified themselves as journalists from Palli TV.

Port Thana police arrested them from a clinic in Benapole Bazar around 10pm on Wednesday.

The detainees were identified as Shahjad Bellal, 29, son of Sourav Hossain of Ashtalapara village under Jibonnagor Upazila of Chowadanga district, Sabuj Hossain, 20, son of Abdul Jabbar, Alamin Biswas, 29, son of Abdul Karim and Shitol Hossain, 20, son of Mizanur Rahman of the same district. They claimed themselves to be journalists from Palli TV.

The detainees were identified as Alamin Biswas, 27, son of Abul Karim of Taranibash area, Shajad Belal, 32, son of Showrab Hossain of Atalaspara village, Sabuj Hossain, 24, son of Abdul Jabbar resident of same village and Shitol Hossain, 23, son of Mizanur Rahman of Daulotganj area in Jibonnagar upazila of Chuadanga district.

Police sources said, being tipped off, a team of Benapole port thana police had raided on the area and detained them when they were extorting money from Rajoni clinic at Benapole bazar area on Wednesday at 10:00pm as they introduced himself Journalist of Palli TV. The arrestees confessed that they were involved extorting activities from Benapole and Jashore for last three days. The extorted money was seized from them, said SI Abdul Latif.A case was filed with Benapole port thana police in this connection.
