Four deaths, 1,728 new Covid cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh reported four deaths and 1,728 fresh Covid-19 cases in the 24 hours till 8am Wednesday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The positivity rate was recorded at 16.89 percent after testing 10,233 samples across the country. 

The country reported seven deaths and 1998 new Covid cases the previous day. The Coronavirus has killed 29,185 people and infected 19,84,700 so far, according to the statement.

    The recovery count increased to 19,09,799 after another 526 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the last 24 hours.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 96.23 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.47 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.

Among the 29,185 fatalities, 12,838 occurred in Dhaka division, 5,872 in Chattogram, 2,144 in Rajshahi, 3,719 in Khulna, 983 in Barishal, 1,329 in Sylhet, 1,417 in Rangpur and 883 in Mymensingh divisions.
