Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder emphasized the remarkable progress and development in villages, transforming them into thriving communities with improved infrastructure and employment opportunities.
Speaking at a discussion meeting organized by the Hajinagar Union Awami League, the minister as the chief guest assured that the government is committed to ensuring an abundance of food in the country and even expressed aspirations for future food exports.
Addressing the opposition, Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder dismissed the use of intimidation and violence, urging them to participate in elections and gain public support through votes. He asserted that the government's initiatives have led to significant improvements in the lives of citizens, with allowances for the elderly and support for those in need through social safety net programs.
Reflecting on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 23-year struggle for the liberation of the people, the minister highlighted the government's commitment to providing allowances and support to elderly individuals who often find themselves without familial care in their later years.
Regarding challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, Minister Majumder acknowledged their impact on development but emphasized the government's response in providing incentives during the pandemic. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the country would overcome obstacles and continue on the path of progress.
Encouraging BNP leaders and workers to join the development agenda, Minister Majumder asserted that there is no alternative to the Awami League for driving progress in the country. He called upon individuals to support the party in upcoming elections for continued development.
The discussion meeting, held in the field adjacent to the Shibpur Police Investigation Center, featured special guests including Niamatpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Farid Ahmed, Niamatpur Upazila Awami League President Abul Kalam Azad, General Secretary Zahid Hasan Biplab, Naogaon District Awami League Agricultural Affairs Secretary Abed Hossain, and Niamatpur Upazila Women Awami League President Nadira Begum.
