Five meritorious students of Cumilla University (CoU) are up for the Prime Minister Gold Medal award this year. A notice from the university’s public relations office signed by Amdadul Haque confirmed the matter.
Five students from 2012-13 and 2013-14 session of five faculties will receive the awards. The nominated students are Ishita Ferdous from Bangla Department, Dhiman Basu from Economics Department, Umul Khair Sumi from Statistics, Mohammad Kamrul Hassan from Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Sharifa Akhter Nipa from Accounting and Information System Department.
CoU Registrar Prof Dr Md. Abu Taher said that the faculty committees have nominated the five students from five respective faculties on the basis of the results published in 2018.
Therefore, the University Grant Commission (UGC) has published a list of the candidates who were selected for the Prime Minister’s gold medal.
Among 172 first-class holder students of different public and private universities in the country, five students from Comilla University have been nominated for this reward.
Earlier an emergency notice signed by Director of UGC’s Research Support and Publication Division Omar Faruq confirmed the matter.
