Financially challenged students to be given support: DU VC

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman called upon the chairmen and students’ advisors of all departments to prepare a list of financially challenged students for providing support to them in running their academic life smoothly.

The VC was addressing as chief guest the orientation programme of 1st year Honours students of different departments under the Faculty of Biological Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of DU on Sunday at TSC auditorium. Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office of DU organized the programme.

Director of Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office Professor Dr Mahjabeen Haque presided over the programme while Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr Muhammad Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Professor Dr Md Imdadul Hoque and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr Md Hasanuzzaman addressed it as special guests.

Chairmen and students’ advisors of different departments were present on this occasion.

Professor Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to take oath to serve the nation after equipping themselves with the spirits of Liberation War, non-communal and humanitarian values as well as truthfulness, patriotism and honesty. He congratulated the brilliant students of the country for getting admitted into this university in the historic “Mujib Year” through a competitive examination.
