The father of the illegitimate son of Paiksa village in Katiadi of Kishoreganj was identified through DNA test. On November 30, 2018, Sagar, son of Arif of the same village, raped an 8th class girl from Paiksha village in Achmita union of Katiadi upazila. The matter came to light after four months when her physical changes took place.

Sagar's mother Surma Akhter, being a local influential woman, disobeyed the village arbitrators by showing her power and harassing some people by filing false cases. Meanwhile, the rape-victim gave birth to a son.

Achmita Union Parishad Chairman Mahbubur Rahman Bachchu handed over a birth registration certificate to the newborn child mentioning Rahmat Ullah, father's name Sagar.

The father of the victim tried to file a case with the police without finding any way. After failing in the police station, he finally filed a case in Kishoreganj court on September 20, 2019 under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act.

The court then ordered a DNA test at the CID after taking evidence through a judicial inquiry. On July 1, 2020, a written report signed by Ahmed Ferdous, Deputy Chief DNA Analyst at the Forensic DNA Laboratory of the Bangladesh Police, and Dipankar Dutta, DNA Inspector, stated that th DNA test proved that Sagar Mia was the father of the  fetus of the rape victim.
