A father and his infant daughter were roasted alive on Saturday night at Eidrakpur area under Fatulla model police station in Narayanganj.
The deceased were identified as Dipayan Sarker, 35, and his daughter Rani, 5. They used to livd at Anwar Sardar’s house as a tenant.
A sub-inspector, Md. Imanur Rahman, told that Depayan took a cigarette smoke on the bed and went to sleep without lit off cigarette. The fire of cigarette caught the mosquito net, pillows, bed and father and daughter chaired in asleep. Dipayon’s wife Popy Sarker, 30, also received burn injury. She now is under treatment at the burn unit at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Police claimed an investigation is going on to unearth any other reason might have been the cause behind the fire incident.
