A total of 7,890 famers have received seeds of Aush Paddy and Jute, and fertilizers worth about tk. 80,20,,870 as incentive from Agriculture Department in the fiscal year of 2022-23 through a function held on March 20 at Sadar Upazila Chattor in the district town. After distribution, a 3 day long agriculture fair was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Solaiman Hoque Joarder Selun.
Over 6,550 farmers have received 6,550 kg of Aush paddy seeds, 65,500 kgs of DAP fertilizer and 65,500 kg of MOP fertilizer which value is tk. 37,49,875 as incentive. About 5 kg of Aush paddy seeds, 10 kg of DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilizers were distributed to each farmer.
On the other hand 1340 kg of jute seeds worth about tk. 2,71,000 was given to 1340 farmers (each farmer got 1 kg of jute seed) at the function.
The function was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aminul Islam Khan while Member of Parliament Solaiman Hoque Joarder Selun was present as chief guest. Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department Bevash Chandra Saha and Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Sadar Upazila Shamim Bhuyan addressed as special guests. Sadar Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Masudur Rahman, General Secretary of Chuadanga Press Club Rajib Hasan Kochi and Assistant Agriculture Officer Amirul Hoque Rassel were present there. Agriculture Officer of Sadar Upazila Afrin Binte Aziz conducted the function as moderator.
After distribution of seeds and fertilizers Chief Guest Member of Parliament Solaiman Hoque Joarder inaugurated the three day long agriculture fair. At least 20 stalls on agricultural products have been set up for the visitors.
