Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s recent statement has created resentment among the people of the country. Mirza Fakhrul in a statement said that “they were in good position during the Pakistani regime”, according to media report. Through his statement, the BNP’s real face, character, traditional anti-Bangladesh stance and secret agenda of anti-independence ill-politics have been exposed once again.

It is clear to all that the party’s leaders hold Pakistan in their hearts even after 51 years of the country’s independence. When tremendous development is taking place in the country with establishment of democracy here under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, BNP Secretary General’s such remark is nothing but a tool to obstruct the country’s development progress.

We believe the government

 will protect the country from

the agents of Pakistan in order to continue

the ongoing development journey

Different foreign countries including Pakistan across the globe are praising Bangladesh today and BNP and anti-liberation forces of the country are now upset about it.  Therefore, they have now become desperate to make Bangladesh a failed state. It is very unfortunate that they are still shamelessly singing songs in favour of Pakistan alongside hatching various conspiracies against the ruling Awami League.  It is only possible for BNP leaders those who politically and personally uphold the politics of Pakistani ideology in independent Bangladesh.

All know that military dictator Zia had grabbed the state power illegally through murdering freedom fighters and patriotic soldiers. BNP’s leaders always want to introduce Pakistan-style politics in Bangladesh by rejecting the great independence.

This shameless statement made by Fakhrul is not only treason but also betrayal with the blood of three million martyrs.

No person or political party that believes in the country’s independence and sovereignty cannot make such comments which go against the spirit of the great Liberation War. Country’s people imbued with the spirit of the great Liberation War will have to remain alert as the defeated forces (of 1971) have been hatching conspiracy against Bangladesh with their foreign collaborators.

Mirza Fakhrul’s such statement is the manifestation of the anti-Bangladesh plot of a vested quarter. We believe the government will protect the country from the agents of Pakistan in order to continue the ongoing development journey and ensure peace and prosperity of the people. We all will have to move forward overcoming all the odds and obstacles, and extend supports to Sheikh Hasina’s government in this regard.
