Ex-CCC mayor gives food items in flood-hit areas

The management of Alhaj Mostafa-Hakim Welfare Foundation and Alhaj Hossain Ara Manzur Welfare Trust and former Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation M Manzur Alam is distributing cooked food to 5,000 flood-affected people in different unions of Sunamganj every morning with his own funds.

 This activity has started from last Friday.  Food was distributed in Mohanpur Union, Kathair Union, Molla Para Union and Labanchhari Union of Sadar Upazila in the last two days.  This activity will continue for the next 7 days.

 The chairmen of Bangladesh Army Sunamganj unit and various unions are cooperating in this activity every day.  At the same time, two speedboats with a capacity of 30 people of modern standard were handed over to the Sunamganj Army to easily deliver food and relief to the victims in remote areas.  Meanwhile, Manzur Alam distributed relief items among flood affected people in Sylhet and Haripur at the onset of floods last week.  Rice, pulses, chira, sugar, soybean oil, biscuits, bread, food saline, candle matches and other daily necessities were distributed among the 2,000 helpless families of flood affected areas.

  Manzur Alam said, "We are always by the side of the people.  I work for the welfare of the people.  We are always dedicated to the welfare of humanity starting from natural disasters.  We are conducting our service activities on the side of poor people helpless in all natural calamities.  This is our initiative for the flood affected people of Sunamganj. '

 Badsha Alam, former vice-principal of Mostafa Hakim College and officers-employees of Mostafa Hakim Group handed over two speedboats to Sunamganj Bangladesh Army Unit on behalf of Manzur Alam.

 Chairman of Mohanpur Union of Sunamganj Sadar Upazila, Moinul Haque, Chairman of Kathair Union Shamsul Alam, Chairman Nazim Uddin were present at the occasion.
