Traffic fortnight began in Jhenidah on Thursday. On the occasion, a colourful rally was brought out from Hamdah intersection in the district town in the morning.
The participants in the rally distributed leaflets among the workers of transports on the roads. The leaflet on awareness was also distributed in the conference room of the Superintendent of Police.
Later, a discussion was held at Jhenidah transport workers union office with president of Jhenidah district truck, tractor, covered van, tank lorry workers union Daud Hossain. Jhnidah SP Hasanuzzaman attended the discussion as the chief guest.
President of Jhenidah District Bus-minibus Owners Association Rokanuzzaman Ranu, district traffic inspector Mohammad Salauddin, district bus- minibus workers union president Waliur Rahman, general secretary Ashrfuzzaman Khokan among others were present as special guests.
The speakers urged the transport workers and others to be more careful on the roads for the interest of the lives and properties of the people. They said the awareness raising activities will be continued to reduce the mishaps on the roads.
SP Hasanuzzaman called for ensuring safety of people on the road.
