As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, we must remember the lessons we have learned. During this month, we tried to control our hunger and thirst, our anger and our greed. This month teaches us the joy of giving, of sharing our blessings with our loved ones as well as strangers.

Eid-ul-Fitr is a joyous occasion to celebrate our month-long devotion to Islamic teachings. It is a festival of togetherness and love. Families and friends join together to celebrate the occasion. The day is spent eating delicious food, visiting relatives and watching Eid dramas.

Eid Mubarak to all our readers and

well-wishers and may your days be

 filled with peace, happiness and

prosperity

However, just because the month of Ramadan has ended does not mean we cannot carry on its teachings in our everyday life. We must make giving to charity and helping others a regular occurrence, not just something we attempt to do every Ramadan. We must strive to better ourselves each and every day of the year.

Ramadan also teaches us patience and kindness. When we are fasting we try to avoid conflicts. But we should try to do that every day of the year, not just for the month of Ramadan. During this month, everyone is on their best behavior. This just goes to show that we can change for the better, we simply need to try a little harder.

We must also remember to foster communal harmony. We must respect the views of people from different religions and ethnicities. Protecting our minorities must be our prime concern. The bliss of Eid should be shared with our non-Muslim brothers and sisters as well.

Eid Mubarak to all our readers and well-wishers. May your days be filled with peace, happiness and prosperity. Celebrate this blessed holiday with your loved ones and help spread joy with those around you. Wishing you a very happy Eid.
