State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumdar MP, Secretary for Industries Zakia Sultana and other related officers and employees were present at this time.

Inaugurating the e-library, the Minister of Industry said that it will help the officers and employees of a large and important ministry like the Ministry of Industry to increase their intellectual practice/curriculum and encourage them to seek knowledge.

Inaugurating the day-care center, the Minister of Industry said that the day-care center established on the fifth floor of the Ministry of Industry can be used by the officials and employees to keep their small children during office hours. In this they can work with children without worry.

While inaugurating the e-library, Industry Secretary Zakia Sultana said that this type of initiative is the first among government institutions in Bangladesh. Article/Journal/Publication published by Ministry officials can be saved in e-library. The e-library will act as an intellectual storage. Besides, the various publications and magazines published by the Ministry of Industries can be easily viewed and read by anyone in the world which will facilitate the branding of the Ministry.

It is to be noted that the e-library established on the ground floor of the Ministry of Industry is a modern and technology-based library, where electronic books or e-books are available in a pleasant environment as well as printed books. The 950 square feet library will have a collection of about 2,000 books that can be searched using the e-library website. Books can be read and issued in the library during office hours except on public holidays.

Every officer/employee of the ministry can join the e-library through Individual ID/Password to borrow or read books along with category wise book search. With digital library management, the database related to book withdrawal/deposit can be maintained very easily and the information about how many books are pending to be returned can be found out very easily.
