DU VC urges students to pay respect others

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman called upon the students to respect each other to establish peace and harmony in the society.

The VC was addressing as chief guest at the orientation programme of 1st year Honors students of different departments under the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Fine Art of DU on Tuesday at TSC auditorium. Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office of DU organized the programme.

Director of Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office Professor Dr Mahjabeen Haque presided over the programme while Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr Muhammad Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr Tofail Ahmad Chowdhury and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Fine Art Professor Sheikh Afzal Hossain addressed it as special guests.

Chairmen and Students Advisors of different departments were present on this occasion.

Professor Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to play an effective role in making DU campus clean and tidy. Terming DU as a nurturing center for religious, cultural, non-communal and humanitarian values he said students must equip themselves with these values. He congratulated the brilliant students for getting admitted into this university through a competitive examination. He hoped that the students would defeat all challenges including financial one and be successful in life.

The university authorities will provide all out support and cooperation to the students in this regard, he assured.
