Dhaka University (DU) authorities have further received BDT 75 lac as donation to increase the capital of “Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall Trust Fund” at the university. Provost of Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall of DU Professor Dr Sabita Rezwana Rahman handed over a cheque for BDT 75 lac to DU Treasurer Professor Dr Md Kamal Uddin on Tuesday at the Vice-Chancellor’s (VC) office to enhance the capital. This amount has been collected from various internal sources of the hall. Now the total amount of this trust fund stood at BDT 1 crore and 25 lac.
VC of DU Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Professor Dr S M Abdur Rahman, Acting Registrar Md Enamuzzaman, VP of the Hall Union Tanjina Akter Suma, GS Monira Sharmin and House Tutors of the hall were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this trust fund, every year 77 meritorious students of Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall will be given scholarship.
Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman thanked the provost for her initiative to increase the capital of Hall Trust Fund. He also hoped that the students of the hall would be highly benefited and encouraged by this trust fund.
