An anti-drug rally was organied by Nandankanan Club on the occasion of International Anti-Drug Day.
Samir Sakir Chowdhury of Nandankanan Club presided over the function on Sunday. Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babor, the inventor of the Corona Resistance Booth and former Deputy Finance Secretary of the Central Juba League, addressed the gathering as the chief guest.
Babor said, “Drugs are the name of a complex problem. Drug addiction is one of the most deadly diseases of modern civilization. Drugs have destroyed the lives and families of countless successful scholars, intellectuals and other successful people in the world. This problem is becoming more and more evident day by day. As soon as a member of a family becomes addicted to drugs, a horrible environment descends on that family. The problems that surround drug addiction can lead a family to disaster.”
He said, “Yaba from Myanmar is attracting Phensidyl youths from India in our country. When they become addicted to this drug, they are engaging in social crime to pay for it. Drug eradication is essential to build a modern Bangladesh and strengthen the hand of the people's leader Sheikh Hasina.”
