Driver, disabled held with phensedyl

The Detective Branch (DB) of police have arrested two persons including a man with disability and seized 140 bottles of contra banned phensedyl syrup when they were carrying the drug on a three-wheeler easy-bike. The duo was arrested from Kagmari area of Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenidah on Sunday afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jhenidah DB police Anwar Hossain said that they were informed that a man with disability has been marching towards Jhenidah from Jibanagar of Chuadanga on a three wheeler carrying the contra banned under his wrapper (chadar).

The police said Jalal Hossain, 35, son of Rabiul Hossain turned disabled when he fell down from a tree about five years back. The man has been leading his life as a disabled in the locality. However, he was allegedly involved with drug trading in Chuadanga and neighboring Jhenidah. The DB men arrested Jalal Hosaon and driver of the three wheeler Raju Hossain.
