A Dhaka court has ordered a three-day remand for Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Managing Director of Diamond World, in connection with the shooting death of a teenager during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan issued the remand order on Wednesday after a hearing. Agarwala was arrested late Tuesday by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Gulshan, Dhaka, following a raid on his office. This raid was part of an investigation by the Financial Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) into allegations of gold and diamond smuggling linked to Diamond World and its associates.

The remand is related to the killing of 16-year-old Hridoy Ahmed, who was shot in front of Brac University in Badda on July 19. Shahadat Hossain Khan has filed a case against 161 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in connection with this incident.
